**ROGRAM CHAIR, INTEGRATED TRAINING PROGRAMS**

**FACULTY OF SKILLS AND FOUNDATIONAL LEARNING**

Faculty Support and Teaching Excellence
- Promote and participate in teaching excellence within the department through:

- Classroom instruction
- Learner advocacy
- Faculty development
- Technological initiatives
- Curriculum designing and developing
- Observation and evaluation
- Recruit and onboard faculty and staff.
- Manage faculty and staff workloads and supervise performance.

Student Success
- Promote and support adult educational principles (androgogy) and instructional techniques (pedagogy) for student success.
- Develop program admission criteria.
- Monitor overall student academic performance.
- Mediate instructor concerns as appropriate.
- Resolve academic issues, such as student appeals, as appropriate.

Program Maintenance and Development
- Lead program reviews and accreditation requirements.
- Ensure that programming is relevant, current, and sustainable.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of courses and program.
- Monitor course evaluations.
- Facilitate curriculum development and/or renewal.

Internal and External Liaison
- Participate in timely and accurate communication with key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of program advisory committees, as required.
- Coordinate expertise representation for external committees and taskforces.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- A Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred, but an undergraduate degree and considerable experience will be considered. The pursuit of a graduate degree in an appropriate field is encouraged.
- 5+ years’ experience teaching in a formal adult education environment.
- Previous academic activities should include, but are not limited to:

- Teaching Alberta Education course,
- Advocating for learners
- Using teaching and learning strategies
- Developing curriculum
- Distance and online delivery
- Pursuing applied research or professional scholarly activities

**SALARY**:
***Reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is a fulltime permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs. The Chair position is for an initial term length with the possibility of renewal. The Chair is a member of faculty; once the term(s) are completed the occupant will be offered a full-time teaching role.

This is a Faculty role therefore the pay range is quite large, the Faculty Association agreement Appendix A outlines how pay is determined.
