Halifax, Canada CPM Professional Painting Services Full time

CPM Professional Painting Services is a Residential and Commercial Professional Painting Service that specializes in interior and exterior painting and refinishing kitchen cabinets across the Halifax Regional Municipality in Nova Scotia.

We are looking for 2 skilled **Wood finishers** to join our team.

**Roles & Responsibilities include**:

- Work with paint, paint equipment suppliers; spraying system elements including High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spraying system, air assistant spraying system, airless spraying system etc.
- Ensure quality of product and process.
- Able to see and identify colours correctly
- Create and record accurate color recipes
- Prepare stains/coloured paints for paint shop
- Maintain inventory of color supplies
- Knowledge of wood veneers/species
- Knowledge of different kinds of stains (NGR, pigmented, oil, etc) and finishes (lacquers, polyurethanes, paints, etc.)
- Prepare samples for projects
- Prepare wooden and MDF surfaces for stain & lacquer finishes
- Sand, clean, prime, stain and/or spray millwork and cabinets
- Touch up finished materials as required to produce an equal tone
- Estimate and gather materials required for production
- Perform routine quality control checks during receiving and shipping process
- Change exhaust fan and spray booth filters as required
- Maintain and clean equipment and work area

**Experience**:

- 1-2 years of experience as a Finisher or Painter
- Knowledge of conversion varnish, lacquer, paints, and glazes
- Basic knowledge of carpentry
- Knowledge of safe operation of hand and power tools
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures

**Education**:High School or equivalent

**Language**: English

**Wage**:Depending on experience: $19-$23/hour for 40 hours/week

**Location**:Brookside, NS

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Overtime
- Weekend availability

Work Location: One location
