**Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Select and lead external training vendors and internal employees to develop and deliver training.
- Supervise staff involved in projects and implementations, coordinate with other departments and business units, and coordinate scheduling and task assignments to ensure all deliverables are achieved on schedule and within budget.
- Identify and assess Teck's training needs through collaboration with Organizational Change Management (OCM), Operational Readiness (OR) and Platform teams.
- Evaluate organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting business needs and improving performance.
- Drive Teck values and philosophy through standardized training and development activities.
- Effectively connect with team members, trainers, and management.
- Implement effective and purposeful training methods based on audience.
- Effectively handle the training budget.
- Identify and assess potential risks while devising proactive resolutions
- Lead all aspects of:

- Creation of curriculum to facilitate strategic training based on the organization’s goals.
- Development of individualized and group training programs that address specific business needs.
- Development of training materials that support standardization of process and functionality.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in training and development management is required
- Outstanding track record in developing and implementing successful training programs
- Detailed understanding of business policy and processes across multiple departments and BU's
- Excellent management and leadership skills
- Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with specific software packages and management tools
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training processes
- Ability to effectively organize and run multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strategic and creative approach
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of adult teaching theory for crafting effective instructional materials
