We are searching for a compassionate caregiver to care for our clients who are living at home or in care facilties.

**Responsibilities**:

- Dementia care assistance
- including cognitive support
- Be a kind and supportive companion
- Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
- Help clients with physical therapy exercises
- Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
- Help clients take prescribed medication
- Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements and skills:

- Proven experience as a **caregiver**:

- Proven experience with dementia care
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR)
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate
- Good time management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ethics
- Physical endurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Obtaining and maintaining a current Police Clearance
- Providing verification of current Standard First Aid/CPR certification, and ensuring the maintenance of such every year.
- Providing proof of annual Influenza and COVID-19 immunization documentation.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kitchener-Waterloo, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
