**JOB TEXT**:
**Full time TERM position for English Additional Language Teacher (Itinerant), Avalon Region. Duties to commence September 5, 2023 until June 21, 2024.**
- (This is an Itinerant Position; travel between schools within the region may be required as part of this teaching assignment)._

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Pedagogical and practical knowledge of teaching English as a second/additional language, including theory, learning strategies, stages of language development, individual differences, and language structure
- A range of TESL teaching and evaluation and assessment methods, strategies, and skills
- Culturally and linguistically responsive teaching methods including the planning and implementation of effective and responsive teaching and learning practices
- Demonstrated evidence of how to shape a safe and positive learning environment for students and willingness to engage professionally with colleagues, families and communities
- Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices will be considered an asset
- Demonstrated love of learning and an ability to build learner and leadership capacity

**EDUCATION REQUIRED**:

- Bachelor of Education
- Appropriate Training Methods
- Major Required: Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)
