**The Opportunity**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Financial Management**:

- Maintain and oversee accounting systems, ensuring regular backups and data integrity.
- Handle all aspects of monthly financial entries and reporting, including payroll, benefits, insurance, invoices, and tax-related filings (GST/PST).
- Process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and contractor payments accurately and on time.
- Ensure financial functions such as cash management, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and vendor statements are reconciled monthly.
- Prepare and present financial reports, perform detailed financial analysis, and support year-end reporting processes.
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, and expense control to align with organizational goals.
- Meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines, including reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with Corporate, regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Review and maintain all contracts, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.
- Participate in senior management meetings to provide insights on forecasting and budgeting.

**Human Resources**:

- Oversee payroll administration, timesheets, and benefits reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate hiring processes, onboarding, orientations, and updates to HR documentation.
- Manage benefits renewals and assist in developing strategies to enhance employee satisfaction.
- Provide HR-related support to senior management, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or similar designation would be considered an asset.
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, with extensive expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Sage accounting software, Open Invoice, and Jobutrax/Pandell Projects software (knowledge of Ceridian Powerpay is an asset).
- Extensive experience in Oil & Gas invoicing processes and financial compliance.
- Experience with assisting small to medium sized companies increase profitability and growth would be considered an asset.
- Proficient in analyzing financial data to drive strategic decisions and operational improvements.
- Strong understanding of financial compliance and risk management principles.
- Demonstrated experience managing external audits and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and decision-makers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and achieve targets.
- Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and resourceful, with a results-driven mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
- A collaborative team player who is adaptable and thrives in dynamic environments.
