The Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) oversees the regulation, licensing and compliance of liquor establishments and events and non-medical cannabis retail stores. The branch works to protect public safety and to minimize the health and social harms of alcohol and non-medical cannabis. The Branch issues licenses in B.C. for making and selling liquor and for non-medical cannabis private retail sales. It currently regulates 10,000+ licensees, including pubs, bars, lounges, stadiums, nightclubs and restaurants, liquor stores, breweries, distilleries, wineries, and UBrews/UVins. In addition, the Branch regulates almost 30,000 Special Event Permit events, for events like concerts and weddings each year.

The LCRB is comprised of the Assistant Deputy Minister’s Office (ADMO) and three divisions: Licensing Division (Licensing and Local Government Liaison), the Compliance and Enforcement Division (both regional and HQ), and the Corporate and Strategic Services Division.

The Compliance and Enforcement Division (C&E) educates licensees about their responsibilities under British Columbia's liquor and cannabis laws and policies, and the terms and conditions of their particular licence. The Compliance and Enforcement Program for licensees promotes voluntary compliance with provincial liquor and non-medical cannabis laws through education and outreach, while monitoring for contraventions.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (i.e., Public Administration, law, criminology)
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 3 years related experience in each of the following:

- Leading, coaching, and mentoring staff.
- Gathering, assessing, and analyzing information and/or evidence.
- Making decisions and recommendations to Senior Leadership.
- Dealing with the public on complex and sensitive issues.
- Valid B.C. driver's licence
- More than 3 years experience in the above criteria.
- Experience independently conducting field based regulatory inspections and investigations in a non-institutional environment
