Our RJ Caseworkers are responsible for engaging all stakeholders in each case referred to the NSRJP. Stakeholders include those who create harm, those who are harmed, community members, police officers, probation officers, other justice partners and community members and agencies. The RJ Caseworker also works from a principled position adhering to Nova Scotia Department of Justice NSRJP Protocols and Guidelines as well as CJS Policies and Procedures. Specific tasks include but are not limited to:

- Case review and principle based planning/designing
- Intake and Preparation Meetings with case stakeholders
- Managing assigned case load
- Producing clear, concise and timely case notes and reports
- Facilitating RJ Sessions as required
- Facilitating RJ Programs as required
- Networking with community agencies to strengthen relationships and program delivery
- Liaising with Police, Community Corrections, Crown, and the Courts in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) when/where required
- Participating in regular case supervision meetings and training
- Developing work plans based on referral trends and community assignments

**Qualifications**
- University degree in a relevant field AND minimum one year experience in a related position OR equivalent combination of education and experience*
- Clear Child Abuse Registry Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Knowledge and understanding of NSRJP Principles and protocols
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to interact with persons of all backgrounds in a supportive, inclusive, equitable manner
- Ability to prioritize, and excellent time management skills
- Experience managing a caseload and clear grasp of casework protocols
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, build strong relationships, lead others or teams
- Demonstrated group facilitation skills and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work with difficult people and maintain professionalism
- Working understanding of issues and concerns related to youth and adult crime, and victims of crime
- Keen awareness of issues facing diverse communities
- Ability to work in partnership with stakeholder organizations
- Ability to be flexible
- Strong computer literacy

**Salary**: $50,000.00 per year
