Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Accountable for the preparation and timely publishing of monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Direct and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Involvement in contractual documentation process, including management of company wide insurance and bonding documentation
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; including those pertaining to both the general financial and project specific requirements.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support for project management, ensuring the profitability and financial integrity of projects.
- Liaise with external auditors and oversee audit processes.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team, managing work allocation, systems training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry and with applicable role experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degrees and business accreditations are considered an asset.
- Certification: CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation is required. Additional accounting certifications are a plus.
- Legal Requirement: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

- Strong knowledge of construction industry and project financial management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and mentoring.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a hybrid remote setting.

Work Environment:

- Hybrid remote role with regular work required at the Squamish head office and from home.
- Flexible working hours with the expectation of occasional travel to project sites as needed.

Pay: $100,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
