POINT's active clinical trials include FRONTIER, a phase 1 trial for PNT2004, a pan-cancer program targeting fibroblast activation protein-α (FAP-α), and SPLASH, the phase 3 trial for PNT2002 for people with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) after second-line hormonal treatment.

Location of work: This position will be located onsite downtown at UHN near University Avenue and College Street at the MaRS Center.

Key Accountabilities
- Support POINT's early drug discovery efforts by preparing key compounds and intermediates.
- Independently plan and carry out the synthesis, purification, and characterization of target molecules, including small molecule ligands and oligopeptides.
- Work collaboratively with teams of diverse scientific expertise and clearly communicate experimental details and scientific results.
- Demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day operations, assisting other divisions in R&D and CMC.
- Facilitate preparation, packaging and shipping of materials to other POINT facilities and external partners.
- Ensure an orderly and functional laboratory environment.
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Maintain a safe working environment for themselves and others through full compliance with health and safety protocols.

**Requirements**:

- M.Sc. or PhD in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related field.
- 2+ years relevant post-graduate experience in synthetic chemistry.
- Experience in normal and reverse phase chromatography.
- Ability to analyze composition and purity of products (NMR, HPLC, MS).
- Understanding of medicinal chemistry and PK/PD principles.
- Experience with solid-phase peptide synthesis is an asset.
- Capable of working independently and managing time effectively.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of MS-Office, ChemDraw, MestreNova.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability communicate scientific results to an interdisciplinary team.
