Become a connected **System Administrator**

The System Administrator is responsible for the management of all eStruxture systems IT infrastructure in addition to the resolution of all related escalations. Working closely with internal customers, the System Administrator responds promptly to all requests and provides constant, professional communications to stakeholders. Working in a 24/7/365 service provider environment, the System Administrator takes ownership of the complete IT infrastructure stack and ensures the continuous availability and operation of eStruxture’s server, storage, and virtualized environment. Adhering to industry best practices and internal policies and procedures, the System Administrator mitigates risk by securing and hardening eStruxture’s IT systems/infrastructure assets against intrusion and attack.

**Your contribution**

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Systems Administration
- Responds to escalated support requests (internal and external customers)
- Investigate and respond to reports of service degradation and outages
- Proactively monitor eStruxture’s IT systems/infrastructure for events offering up opportunities for improvement as needed.
- Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation as required
- Work with onsite resources to install or deploy IT infrastructure. Travel to sites when necessary/as required.
- Participate in compliance related activities including security assessments and regular IT testing (e.g. disaster recovery and backups)
- Identify, document, and remediate system vulnerabilities
- Proactively patch and update IT infrastructure/systems operating systems
- Ensure all systems are regularly backed up and tested in accordance with eStruxuture backup policies

Other Responsibilities
- Participate and lead in the coaching and training of IT support analysts
- Act as a backup and provide internal IT end-user support as required Create and update accurate IT infrastructure/systems documentation

**Working Conditions**

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment and remotely with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The incumbent must be willing to work outside of normal business hours when required and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress. The role requires mínimal travel (15%) to support engagements within specified regions.

**The profile we are looking for**

Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the field is required, service provider experience is preferred
- Strong experience administrating Linux and Microsoft and server products
- Hands-on experience working with vCenter, VMWare, vSAN (and hardware SANs) and ESXi environments
- Experience working with Web Services (Apache, BIND, PowerDNS, MySQL, etc.)
- Experience working with Veeam Backup and Replication

Education/Certification/Designation
- College or bachelor’s degree in Internet Communications Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent program
- VMWare Certified Associate
- ITIL or equivalent IT service management certification

Competencies
- Strong foundational knowledge of service provider and data center networks
- Demonstratable understanding of the OSI model and network stack
- Strong, demonstratable troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Adept at managing multiple, complex pro
