**ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE**

This role reports to the Director, Faculty of Health Professional Studies.

**SUMMARY**

KPU’s Faculty of Health Professional Studies department is seeking a casual instructor for our online Lab courses, PNUR 9109 Health & Physical Assessment and PNUR 9111 Psychomotor Skills Review, which are each offered once per semester. Both courses are designed for both Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) nurses who are seeking additional support with assessment and psychomotor skills. The focus of both courses is to enhance psychomotor skills, professional communication, assessment skills, critical thinking, clinical decision making, safety, organizational skills and effective prioritizing. PNUR 9109 is a two-day course (8-hours per day) with two weeks of asynchronous student preparation, and PNUR 9111 is a four-day course (6-hours per day).

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversee course Moodle site and ensure students complete required clinical preparation tasks/modules, monitoring student site access, and uploading evaluations/documents as required.
- Lead synchronous lab sessions as required
- Perform student assessments and document performance.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Current practicing licensure with BCCNM as a Registered Nurse, with no limits or restrictions.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Canadian acute care setting.
- Familiarity with technology-assisted teaching and learning. Experience with Moodle would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated judgment, discretion and the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Previous post-secondary teaching experience and/or experience teaching Internationally Educated Nurses is not required, but would be considered an asset.
- **Salary Information**

PNUR 9109: Compensation for course delivery is a lump sum of $1500 and includes 4% in lieu of vacation based on the expected workload.

PNUR 9111: Compensation for course delivery is a lump sum of $2250 and includes 4% in lieu of vacation based on the expected workload.
