At Transforming Faces (TF) we are pursuing a world in which every child born with cleft lip and palate experiences full rehabilitation, with the support of a trusted local health team.

The Communications Specialist will provide critical support to Transforming Faces’ (TF) communications and program teams, working towards our mission to partner locally and innovate globally so that children and families in under-resourced communities access Comprehensive Cleft Care.

In this dynamic role, the Communications Specialist, under the mentorship of the Communications & Engagement Manager and Program Manager of Global Initiatives, contributes to multimedia projects focused on public engagement and education, supporter & donor communications, and programmatic resources.

**Tasks & Responsibilities**
- Content Development_ & Campaigns_ (~_40_%)_
- Contribute to the writing process of patient stories, with a particular focus on dignified storytelling.
- Support the process of planning and creating assets needed for special events and campaigns.
- Research and ideate automated flows to welcome new donors and demonstrate impact in-line with leading practices.

Website:

- Support SEO tactics including alt-text, page meta descriptions and social cards.

Social Media:

- Create captivating and dignified social media content weekly for all platforms: Inclusive of stakeholder/ donor and global initiative engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with TF’s graphic designer to create accompanying social media assets
- Monitor the social media of likeminded and differing organizations and report on observations.
- Contribute to social media engagement with organizations, supporters and cleft professionals of varied disciplines.
- Research_ & Data Management_ (~_3_0_%)_
- Database Support & Analysis
- Follow good photo and video asset storage principles, support team in the implementing good file management practices.
- Generate segment reports and dashboards using Keela CRM to analyze existing data.
- Analyzing reports on organic and paid media campaign outcomes on Google Analytics
- Conducting research on engaging with and mobilizing new generations of supporters and donors for health-based charities.
- Conducting research on corporations and organizations aligned with corporate social responsibility principles to cultivate partnerships. Research and team ideate monthly giving programs.
- Research Canadian health professionals using tools like LinkedIn and other databases to identify programmatic collaborative opportunities.
- Contribute to the organization’s communications and programs knowledge bank “wiki”
- Program Support (~_2_5_%)_
- Conduct data and/or feedback analysis for TF's global programs
- Support the creation of an events plan for the new CoCP global community platform launch
- Provide administrative support as needed for TF’s global initiatives (e.g. CoCP, speech therapy peer mentorship program)
- Review existing materials and research new content for the CoCP platform, tagging and categorizing them appropriately.
- Assist in the development of a revitalized CoCP website and community-platform
- Donor_ Communications_ (~_5_%)_
- Respond to basic donor inquiries and address the phone in the absence of the Special Projects Coordinator (occasional).
- Assist in the acknowledgment of donations, with supervision.

**Qualifications**
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree/diploma and/or relevant professional certificate in the following fields (e.g. marketing, communications, international development, fundraising, non-profit leadership, program management etc.).
- Excellent English writing skills with demonstrated experience producing quality written pieces and conducting research
- Exposure to communications, marketing, and social media engagement concepts
- Experience providing quality customer service is an asset
- A passion for international relations/ development is an asset
