Summary:
The Shaft Coordinator is responsible for the communication, reporting and coordination of technical services required for the Project (primarily the shaft scope). This includes a functional support role to the construction / operations team on the Project. The Shaft Coordinator will ensure that sinking metrics are captured formally and reports are updated correctly. This will include interface with the operations team and technical services team. Shaft and construction coordination will include the management of bill of materials, work scope planning and schedule interface.
The scope is based upon the Project’s Work Breakdown Structures.
The Shaft Coordinator will attend daily operational meetings and interface with shaft crews/ management to ensure that all sinking metrics (advance rates, down time, cycle timings, etc) are correct and reflective of the scope. There will be requirements to assist with work place planning, via scheduling tools and bill of materials tracking. The Shaft Coordinator is a support function for the sinking operations, managed by the Technical Services team.

**Responsiblities**:
- Working in the Technical Services team to report and update internal (and external of Project) stakeholders the progress on site and key updates.
- Supporting the Project Engineering team on scope/ package deliverables.
- Involvement is required throughout the site scope (shaft - construction).
- Interface with shaft sinking crews and supervision to ensure all metrics are captured and are correct.
Technical Services
- Submit daily shaft report based on data collected.
- Collect data from shaft shifts; interface with shaft crews, supervisors, hoist operators to ensure that all metrics are captured correctly and are reflective of the shift.
- Monitor delays (to an adequate level of detail) and ensure durations, reasoning and associated cost impacts are captured.

Schedule
- Work with Superintendents and Project Engineers to create work schedules.
- Assist with work task planning (specific work task break down to level 4 detail).
- Tracking of progress of work tasks; usage of software.
Construction
- Provide support in writing of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Provide support during construction / operations with schedule interferences/ clashes.
- Make regular site (and shaft) visits to monitor progress and provide feedback.
Other
- Active role in safety management on site.
- Provide input to daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Undertake personal development activities on a yearly basis.
- Must be available to work overtime hours, as the Project requires.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience working in the mining industry.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in schedule and budget oversight.
- Demonstrated understanding of design engineering codes, technical standards and regulations relating to The Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1990 Regulation 854: Mines and Mining Plants.
- (Desirable) Experience in shaft sinking projects.
- (Desirable) Experience in EPC project.
**Skills**
- Ability to work closely with the site engineering team.
- Ability to work as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to function with mínimal supervision; self-derived works and development.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- (Desirable) Experience using planning software (Microsoft Project or Primavera P6).
