***Data Analyst - Economics Analysis (Temporary until May 2026)**

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with internal and external data sources for the purpose of cleaning, preparing, and analyzing data based on defined use cases to be used in advanced analytics
- Analyze and interpret large and complex datasets to distill insights; connect disparate ideas into cohesive, well-grounded recommendations
- Implement business automation prototypes that relate to BCSC-approved use cases
- Design dashboards to allow users to evaluate prototyped models
- Engage in knowledge-specific quality assurance testing
- Collaborate with the business to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Work with the Data Science team and the Technology & Project Services team to promote models to production
- Advocate on benefits and risks of promoting specific models to production
- Communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences using plain language
- Act as a guide to the business, using your technical skills to address prioritized problems

***Qualifications**:

- A degree in a quantitative field, such as Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a similar discipline
- At least 3 years of working experience as a Data Analyst
- Experience working in Securities, Financial Services is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of SQL to perform complex data analysis
- Sound understanding of Python or another language to transform and process data
- Experience with data intelligence and visualization platforms, such as Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau
- Experience using Excel
- Strong analytical and programming skills working with complex data sets, with proven ability in data profiling, data wrangling, data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data validation
- Proficiency in clearly and accurately visualizing and communicating data and analytics through dashboards and presentations
- Aptitude in critical thinking to solve logical challenges and synthesize data to develop meaningful insight
- Able to drive results, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision
- Proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and detail orientation
- Confident communicator, both orally and in writing, with professionalism to manage stakeholder expectations

**Salary Range**:
$83,997 (minimum) - $109,087 (midpoint) - $134,177 (maximum).
