**Position Description**:
We are looking for a Summer Student to join the Peri-Operative Services [POS] Executive Administration Team. Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Finance & Administration, you will play a critical role in supporting various strategic projects. Working in collaboration with our Project Managers/Coordinators, Senior Business Operations Managers, Associate Chiefs, and the Director, the POS Summer Student will use their critical thinking and strong analytical and writing skills to identify and develop content for the following strategic initiatives: a new POS intranet site, the Associate Chiefs¿ 5-year reports, and the development of a proposal for the inaugural POS Faculty database. The Summer Student may also be able to audit a project of interest to them. To prepare you for this role, you will attend Hospital orientation during onboarding, as well as receive an orientation specific to POS. We are excited to welcome the POS Summer Student to the Team and to provide the student with an opportunity for summer work that will allow them to further hone their critical thinking, analysis and writing skills.

**Here Is What You Will Do**:

- Identify, collect, and develop content, ensuring accuracy and consistency for the new intranet site.
- Co-develop a 5-year report template; identify, collect/develop, and refine the content to produce 7 final 5-year reports.
- Co-develop a proposal that identifies the data and information required to describe/characterize the POS physician workforce related to faculty recruitment and retention and other key areas. The proposal will identify the expected metrics to be used to inform the delivery of programs and/or policies supporting the faculty life cycle and other strategic areas of interest. The proposal will include the types of data to be collected, and their respective rationales [supported by a literature search] as well as their anticipated source, a definitions list, and a list of metrics.

- Current enrollment in a University or College program [arts or science], having just completed either Y2 or Y3.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships and interact well with others at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent critical thinking, analysis and writing skills.
- Strong initiative to achieve high standards of service and performance.
- Proficiency with computers is essential (i.e. word processing, excel file).
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities.
- Ability to be self-directed, flexible and to take initiative.
- Attention to detail and efficient time management are essential to the position.
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion.

**Employment Type**: Temporary Full Time
- 1.0 FTE (35 hours/week) from May to August 2024
