**Job Summary**

**Main Responsibilities**

**Operation Support**
Lead monitoring, event analysis, and incident response activities to include:
Identifying potential threat, anomalies, and infections
Documenting findings from analysis
Providing recommendations within the incident management systems
Performing triage of incoming security events
Performing preliminary validation and secondary analysis of events
Performing root cause analysis of security incidents and oversee team tasked with developing containment, eradication, and recovery plans in the event of a major incident declaration

**Practice Evolution**
Enable the Continuous Service Improvement lifecycle which includes:
Reporting and Report Generation for various internal audiences
Conduct regular interactions with Governance
Enable the Security Management Lifecycle
Develop comprehensive security write-ups and presentations, which describe security issues, analysis, and remediation techniques to company leadership
Oversee process improvements, and drive implementation of new capabilities to enhance defense and response of CN systems and networks

**Requirements**:
**Education/Certification/Designation**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computers Science, or related field/degree, or equivalent work experience

**Skills/Knowledge**
For the Specialist Security Operation Center position:

- Expert knowledge of policies, procedures, and protocols in use by the CN Security Operations Center
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative/executive staff
- Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills to interact with individuals

from various levels and departments

**Experience**
- Minimum of 3-5 years overall work experience
- 3+ years of technical experience in security intelligence, incident response, security operations, or related information security field
- Experience in Security Operations and Incident Response in a large enterprise environment with mature operations discipline
- Advanced experience with security operations tools such as SIEM (e.g. Splunk, ArcSight), Indicator management (e.g. ThreatConnect), relationship analysis (e.g. Maltego, IBM i2 Analyst Notebook), signature development (e.g. Snort or Yara rules), and Endpoint Protection technologies

**Assets**
- Familiarity with audit support and response, and regulatory compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley and PCI-DSS)
- Certifications:
oCISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

oGCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler)

oCISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)

oCISM (Certified Information Systems Manager)
