We are currently looking for a**n Operations Construction Manager **to join our Regional Operations team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Sr. Operations Manager, Metro, you will be responsible for providing support for the development and construction of the electric power system to meet the needs of commercial, industrial, and residential customers in an effective and economical manner.
Project management is a key component of this position. You will be responsible to manage and anticipate customer expectations of NSPI from municipalities, major industrial, commercial and residential accounts. You play a key team role in the support of achieving annual regional scorecard targets and can meet high operational demands with mínimal direction and supervision.
**As Operations Construction Supervisor you will**:

- Ensure all electrical overhead and underground designs are environmentally friendly.
- Liaise with customers and NSPI Large Developer team and act as technical expert at site meetings/pre-construction
- Work with Regional Planners to provide assistance, direction, and consistency for designs focused on regulated clearances and compliance with all applicable standards
- Establish working relationships with NSPI repeat customers, consultants, and contractors
- Coordinate scheduling of all resources (Regional Planners, PLTs, UG Electricians, TCP, Backhoe, Crane, etc.) with the Resource Management Centre to execute construction in order of priority for the larger construction projects in HRM
- Assist in ordering equipment to ensure the success of any projects under direction of the T&D Construction Supervisor
- Work to review and resolve customer issues that have escalated
- Provide project management from inception to completion and demonstrate the ability to manage projects for internal or external customers, as well as the ability to monitor and direct projects both financially and operationally
- Provide assistance to operating personnel with design problems and acts as a liaison with Engineering to identify solutions
- Interface directly with consultants, owners/developers, telephony, CATV and municipal technical personnel regarding technical support, capital contributions, construction, and scheduling issues for routing or complex issues
- Review plans with consulting engineering firms and assist with design
- Track all new large developments for discussion with Regional Engineer and Key Accounts Managers
- Assist in managing Regional Response during major storm events.
The T&D Construction Supervisor will maintain good labour relations and employee morale by providing training and development opportunities; ensure vehicles and tools are effectively operated and maintained; sustain a current knowledge of rates, regulations, policies, procedures, practices, standards and collective agreements. You will assist in the preparation of budgets and financial projections and will implement cost control measures. You must be available for rotational supervisory standby and you must demonstrate your ongoing personal commitment to the Capabilities Development Process.
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
