**Responsibilities**:

- Write feature articles for print, including lab design features and Labs Less Ordinary series
- Write original lab design news pieces and other articles for the Lab Manager and Lab Design sites
- Communicate with lab design firms to produce exclusive editorial content
- Assist the Lab Design Editor in both creating and editing contributed online content for lab design topic areas
- Actively participate in meetings, brainstorm, and share ideas to improve the brand
- Assemble biweekly lab design eNewsletter, with the possibility of owning the news selection and posting life cycle
- Assist in editing newsletters and all other editorial/CSD materials, including print issue
- Daily/weekly website maintenance: updating the lab design section of the website, uploading print articles to website, identify bugs/glitches on site
- Recruit industry expert speakers for lab design webinars and live Lab Design Conference
- Assist Lab Design Editor with annual Design Excellence Awards program

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, science communication, or other similar areas
- Any secondary degrees in scientific fields or architecture/design a big plus
- 1-3 years in science communications, writing, journalism, or similar professional experience; experience in architecture or laboratory design is a big plus
- Highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines and multitask
- Familiar with Chicago Manual of Style preferred
- Strong writing on variety of topics
- Strong line editing and copyediting
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Outlook
- Familiar with online content creation
- Knowledge of developing SEO-strong content a plus
- Preferably on US east coast time
- Experience using a content management system
