Opened in 1961, George Bell Arena replaced the outdoor Ravina Rink and was named in honour of Toronto’s Park Commissioner, George T. Bell. The arena has been home to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Furies, Toronto Marlies, and Ryerson Rams.

**JOB SCOPE**

Reporting to the Arena Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing administrative support. This position is designed for someone who excels in bookkeeping tasks and offers the flexibility of part-time remote work, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals seeking work-life balance.

This role requires someone capable of working independently and as part of a team, with the ability to plan proactively and troubleshoot when necessary.

**KEY DUTIES**

Areas of Responsibility
- Work closely with Arena manager and City of Toronto
- Perform monthly accounting, entering all transactions in Sage 50 accounting system
- Update and track all accounts receivable, assist with preparation of ice rental contracts, and process bank deposits
- Assist Arena Manager with bookings, payment tracking, and in-house programming
- Prepare invoices as necessary
- Prepare vendor cheques, mail and file supporting documentation
- Run semi-monthly payroll on Ceridian
- Reconcile bank account and perform month end close
- Prepare adjusting journal entries, as necessary
- Prepare monthly reports
- Assist with preparation of monthly cash flow forecast
- Ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual remittances and reports are prepared and submitted in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist with preparation of Board and City of Toronto reports
- Assist with annual budget preparation and presentation
- Perform year end reconciliations and prepare files and documents for the annual audit

**Qualifications**
- Extensive knowledge of bookkeeping practices.
- Computer proficiency in Sage 50, and Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Math skills to reconcile bank statements and other related accounting duties.
- Reading skills to comprehend invoices, letters and documents.
- Skills to operate office equipment including computers, scanner, copier and fax.
- Knowledge of office procedures.
- Writing skills to compose letters.
- Ability to work well and accurately with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and sustain positive relationships
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional business manner

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Ability to Commute:
