The Ocean Freight Trade Supervisor supports and coordinates ocean freight trade services, products, and operations. He/She works with carriers on procurement activities and ensures solid profit margins through appropriate pricing and contract terms. This position assists in performing procurement/carrier relations, pricing, and contract administration. He/She supervises specialists within the department.

**Your role**:

- Incorporates negotiated buy rates into contractual amendments to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Conducts analysis of customers and trade lanes to identify opportunities to improve margin.
- Reviews contract rates and ensures they are filed accurately in the BIA.
- Aids in the monitoring of trade lane market requirements to compare capacity demand to carrier supply.
- Negotiates with carriers to accommodate new clients.
- Negotiates customer-specific and strategic network rates with carriers to meet or exceed company margins.
- Propose recommendations towards carrier diversification, new opportunities and long-term planning.
- Works with carriers on procurement activities to ensure pricing terms and agreements are clearly documented in contracts.
- Independently handle RFQ’s, pricing requests and spot enquiries.
- Analyzes systems feedback and performance results to identify opportunities for system enhancements and performance improvement.
- Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS’s policies and procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors degree - Preferred
- Experience in transportation and/or supply chain at the supervisor level
- Oral and Written communication skills in English & French.
- Capacity to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-confidence and decision-making abilities.
- Capacity to use analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems, creative problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Demonstrated team-building skills - strong ability to build rapport and trust with others.
- Ability to resolve conflicts quickly and fairly
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with spreadsheets, analysis, and the efficient use of database programs efficiently
- Understanding of various costing/pricing models
- Good logístical problem-solving skills
