**SEWING MACHINE OPERATOR** - Rosa Rugosa Ltd.

Rosa Rugosa (RR) is a direct-to-consumer brand that seeks to make modern trade-wear for all genders that is incredibly durable, ethically sourced, well fitted and Canadian made. Rosa Rugosa garments, made in our Factory of Roses located in the Parkdale neighbourhood of Toronto, under the care & guidance of our talented design and production team. We are in our infancy and excited to take our designs to market and welcome all who wish to help us on our journey.

RR is hiring Sewing Machine Operators who will report to the Sewing Supervisor. Under the direction of the Head Designer and Sewing Supervisor, the operators are responsible for enacting all the day-to-day sewing tasks and will maintain a safe, welcoming and professional environment for all staff, guests, and vendors.

**Responsibilities** _(include but are not limited to the following)_
- Service Operations
- Ability to deal with high pressure environments while maintaining a standard set by management and yourself
- Set goals to achieve success short term and long term
- Maintain daily cleanliness and sanitation of your service areas, equipment and your appearance
- Uphold health and safety protocols in accordance with internal policies, as well as recommended personal hygiene practices outlined by the Ontario health ministry, Health Canada and WHO
- Strong and effective communication with Sewing Supervisor and Head Designer
- Daily us of various industrial machines: single needle, double needle, seam serger, binding, bar tack, snaps and eyelets machines
- Perform tasks with acceptable efficiency and quality to consistently pass product quality inspection and evaluation
- Perform recuts of damaged or missing pieces for the Production floor and
- Cutting Room mistakes from remnant rolls
- Partnering with Head Designer to fully understand style construction details, styling intent and proportions
- Ensure products are engineered to RR’s Quality and Production standards.
- Provide feedback to the Head Designer on construction challenges and recommend alternatives or improvements.
- Provide information of technical details to the Head Designer as required.
- Ensure brand integrity, size and fit are consistent within the product category.

**Required Experience**
- 4+ years of sewing experience in apparel manufacturing industry
- Must be familiar with sewing machine operations
- Excellent understanding of garment construction and fit, measurements, body shapes, reading BOM and technical garment specifications
- Ability to work from scratch, from first prototype sample through to bulk production
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate garment fit and construction techniques to both internal staff as well as outside factories
- Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of safety procedures
- Professional and personable
