Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector will work directly with the execution team and supervision to ensure that work completed by Bird Construction meets all company and client specifications.

This role is located in the Toronto

What you will be working on:

- Provide senior-level oversight and execution of the overall work plan and schedule.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive project files and documents; manage electronic document databases and/or file sharing sites.
- Ensure the accuracy and currency of project documents, including drawings, plans, submittals, document logs, purchase orders, etc.
- Engage in effective communication with architects, consulting engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding contract and change notices, design revisions, RFIs, RFQs, etc.
- Lead and participate in meetings with the project team, architects, consultants, and subcontractors, providing valuable insights and guidance.
- Prepare and distribute accurate and detailed meeting minutes in a timely manner, capturing key discussions and action items.
- Play a pivotal role in providing final document turnover to the client upon the successful completion of the project.
- Coordinate and address project deficiencies promptly and efficiently, leveraging extensive experience to ensure high-quality standards.
- Maintain a proactive project awareness, providing crucial updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders about project status and potential issues.
- Offer advanced technical office support as required by the project team, bringing in-depth knowledge and experience to complex construction scenarios.

What we are looking for:

- Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in a construction-related discipline. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a senior project support role, with a preference for ICI General Contractor or subcontractor experience.
- Demonstrated experience working on civil projects from inception to completion, showcasing a deep understanding of the construction life cycle.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, leading by example and fostering collaboration.
- Exceptional ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings, and other construction documents.
- Excellent computer skills, proficiency with MS Office (including MS Project); experience with SharePoint is a definite advantage.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize workloads and manage increased project demands.
- Client service-oriented with a strong focus on establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong willingness and ability to learn and tackle challenging situations head-on.
