Owned by InnVest Hotels, Canada’s largest owner & operator of hotels and focused exclusively on hospitality, Marriott Ottawa is preparing to begin a transformative, top to bottom renovation of all guestrooms, meeting and event space as well as all public areas, commencing in 2023, positioning the hotel to continue its storied legacy of hospitality excellence.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**:

- Ensure a positive interaction with our guests and associates thanks to a great “hotelier” attitude.
- Take pride in all facets of service, which include quality, appearance, cleanliness, for self and the dining room.
- Check station assigned, before opening, for the cleanliness of tables and chairs, and proper setup. Have necessary equipment to work with.
- Perform all necessary opening and closing side work, as per side work schedule and checklists.
- Follow established meal period service notes.
- Develop product knowledge and use this knowledge to sell to guests. Suggestive selling and presenting promotions that are available to guests.
- Provide attentive and flawless service to guests. Make eye contact with guests to ensure that they are taken care of.
- Know proper beverage, liquor, and wine service.
- Follow and perform proper bussing procedures.
- Perform other duties, as management requests to service the hotel’s guests.
- Attend all departmental meetings.
- Follow Marriott and hotel policies and procedures.
- Follow safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Fulfill all work-related requests made by a manager or supervisor, which may or may not be outside normal duties, to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Other reasonable duties as required.

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:

- **Education/Experience and skills**_
- Minimum of 2 years of serving experience in an upscale dining environment.
- Previous experience with point of sale systems (Micros).
- Smart Serve certification.
- Wine knowledge/ certificate preferred.
- Previous bartending experience is a definite asset.
- Superior service excellence skills to exceed guest expectations.
- Excellent organization skills.
- **Abilities**_
- Excellent communication skills in both official languages (English & French).
- Able to work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends/weekdays, and holidays).
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Competence in handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Professional, well-groomed, and outgoing personality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven team player
