Reports to SVP of Business Development for the Americas

The Vice President of Sales provides leadership for half of the company’s sales function. The VP of Sales is accountable for all the Apparel and Footwear sales organization’s performance, the profitable achievement of the sales organization’s goals, and for aligning sales objectives with the company’s business strategy. The VP of Sales will manage a team of Account Executives. The VP of Sales is a strategic thinker and data driven leader with strong financial skills.

The VP of Sales for Apparel and Footwear brings with them a strong background of Wholesale selling and relationship building. They must have existing relationships with the key accounts in Canada and a proven track record of opening new accounts (excluding the core majors).

**Essential Job Functions**:
**Wholesale Sales**
- Manage and deliver the sales expectations from the current key Wholesale distribution partners, e.g., HBC, Winners, Costco, Walmart and Moores.
- Build and expand the wholesale distribution utilizing existing sales network and experience to grow sales in the Canadian market.
- Create and manage a network of contracted Sales Agents generating sales revenue and margin growth through the independent sales channel.

**Strategic Planning**
- Develop, implement, and manage annual and long-term strategic plans that align with the company’s strategic priorities and financial goals. Present the strategic plans to ownership, management, and the associate base at Haggar.
- Align the sales organization’s objectives with the company’s business strategy through active participation in the company’s strategic planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting process.
- Develop and execute specific strategic plans to pursue new business opportunities, working collaboratively with leaders in other functional areas including product development, research and insights, marketing/digital advertising, inventory planning, finance, and IT.

**Financial Responsibility and Revenue and Contribution Margin Growth**
- Plan, present, and manage all of the P&L responsibilities related to the executive sales position (sales, returns and allowances, contribution margin, SG&A, and other key financial metrics).
- Work with internal partners in product development, sourcing, inventory planning, marketing (digital, social, and traditional) and in-store merchandising to successfully launch new franchise programs, grow key categories, and seize new opportunities with current and potential retail partners (both brick & mortar and ecommerce).
- Meaningfully increase the company’s contribution margin dollars with retail partners (current and new)

**Collaboration with Internal Teams**
- Partner with the Chief Merchant to prepare and conduct quarterly product selling reviews with sales, planning, design, marketing, and other areas.
- Partner with SVP Planning and Analytics to effectively manage and control the company’s total SKU count, inventory levels and excess inventory.
- Work collaboratively with teams in IT/BI, Research and Insights, Inventory Planning (VMI), and Finance to utilize technology and data analytics to assess, manage, and plan the business on a regular and ongoing basis. Lead the sales organization to become a data-driven team that continually utilizes the most effective technology to generate on-demand, valuable information to guide decision-making.
- Work with our Research & Insights team to understand the current Haggar consumer, other target demographics, and important consumer trends of today and tomorrow. Establish targets for market share gains as well as absolute unit and dollar growth in key categories.
- Lead the sales organization to be effective and timely communicators of all relevant information to internal functional teams.

**External Partners**
- Spend considerable time face-to-face with a significant portion of existing and potential retail partners to develop relationships and plan meaningful and profitable growth strategies for all parties.
- Work closely with our licensees to help maximize their presence in-store and online and partner with them to present the Haggar brand in the most effective and impactful manner with retail partners.
