Camera Artist

HB Studios is a driving force in the creation of sports video games and the studio behind PGA TOUR 2K Golf - presently working on Console and PC. We have an opportunity for a** C**amera Artist **to join our team of developers, creators, and fans, who are passionate about the art and process involved in video game development.

As a Camera Artist, you will work with a team of professionals to create and maintain realistic, real-world camera behaviour that breathes life into one of the fastest growing sports game series in the industry

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Work with the Art Manager and Art Director to establish visual targets and ensure visuals of the game deliver an authentic game experience.
- Create real-life camera behaviour within agreed timelines that enhance the quality and authenticity of the game.
- Collaborate with other sub-disciplines including Environment Artists, Level Creators, VFX Artists, Lighting Artists, Technical Artists and Software Engineers.
- Set up Cameras of key indoor locations used for Character Customization.
- Author Non-Interactive Beauty Cameras within the Course Editor to highlight Official Courses in a sports broadcast style.
- Author Dynamic Camera Systems for Non Interactive Cinematic Sequences in the Unity Editor.
- Collaborate with the Lighting Artist for cutscenes and cinematics.
- Tuning of Dynamic Camera behaviour.
- Provide input to the improvement and evolution of camera tools and techniques.
- Build positive working relationships and participate in team meetings.
- Mentor and guide less experienced team members to help elevate the teams' expertise.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Typically 2 to 4+ years of industry experience and proven game development experience as a camera artist (or similar position).
- Proven experience working with Maya and Unity.
- Familiarity with the Cinemachine camera system and concepts.
- Knowledge of programming languages (C++, C#, Javascript).
- Maya scripting experience in Python and MEL.
- Experience with Project Management (Shotgrid, Jira, Confluence, Miro) tools.
- Experience with Source Control (Perforce or Git) software.
- A self-motivated and creative individual with an artistic eye for cinematics.
- A reliable teammate with the ability to work independently.
- An effective communicator in both verbal and written forms, as well as communication softwares (i.e. Slack, Zoom, MS Teams).
- A detail-oriented person with technical problem-solving skills.
