**JOB INFORMATION**:

- This posting is for current and future opportunities which involves working night shifts with either 1. Thursday/Friday or 2. Sunday/Monday as off days and various work reporting locations, which may vary as directed by work assignments.**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Operating various specialized and non-specialized work vehicles required by the tunnel maintenance and rehabilitation crews throughout the subway system. This will include pieces of equipment such as (but not limited to) flat cars, locomotives, tunnel leak car, vacuum/high pressure water jet cars, various special purpose crane and hoist cars, work car mounted lifting devices, etc.;
- Operating various crane/gantry/hoisting/lifting equipment; monitoring load to ensure weight is within lifting capacity; moving/positioning loads visually or in response to hand signals;
- Operating vacuum equipment for drain cleaning and other cleaning tasks;
- Operating work car mounted lifting devices;
- Coupling/uncoupling vehicles and ensure that vehicles and loads are properly secured during push/pull operations;
- Perform a daily service check (i.e. Subway/SRT workcar pre, post and worksite vacate inspection form, check hoses, lights, brakes, cables, tightening nuts, greasing, topping-up oil and fluids, etc.) on the vehicle or ancillary equipment operated prior to and following vehicle operation; perform minor running repairs to the units, reporting servicing or repairs required to supervision and completing the appropriate forms. Ensure that vehicle and equipment are kept in a state of cleanliness both inside and out;
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures outlined in Workcar operator training (following safety devices such as but not limited to switches, signalling systems, radio protocols and workcar recovery methods;
- Ensure that accessories required for lifting equipment and tie downs, required for securing equipment to work vehicles and flatcars are in good working order;
- Operating service vehicle as a recovery unit under emergency conditions;
- When a vehicle is not required or available for operation, the incumbent will be assigned to various structure repair duties such as but not limited to:

- Cutting and chipping deteriorated concrete and reinforcing materials, etc.;
- Placing, tying, and coating steel reinforcement;
- Placing and finishing concrete using floats, trowels etc.;
- Performing wet blasting and abrasive blast cleaning of concrete surfaces, reinforcing steel, structural steel etc.;
- Performing subway cleaning duties including air vents, track inverts, tile walls, sumps, track drains, manholes, columns, catwalks, platforms, tunnel walls; sweeping track level in station, yard and tunnel areas;
- Setting up and dismantling scaffolds;
- Setting up work zones for subway/streetcar and roadway work areas by utilizing barricades, track level warning devices (e.g. lights and/or flags), signs in strict accordance with published safety regulations (Subway Rule Book, Book 7, etc.);
- Setting up and operating various electrical, hydraulic, gas/diesel and pneumatic equipment such as concrete breakers, chippers, grinders, drills and related accessories;
- Operating and performing minor maintenance on compressors, drills etc.;
- May be assigned to flag person duties at various job sites in order to warn crews of oncoming trains, and directing trains safely through the work site;
- Performing mechanical and manual snow removal duties using powered work vehicles, work car mounted snow fighting equipment, shovels, snow blowers, salt spreaders, etc. As required, at track and street level areas;
- Perform power cut monitor duties when required;
- Completing routine forms (Subway/SRT Workcar Pre, Post and Worksite Vacate Inspection form etc.), records, reports etc. as required;
- Performing related duties as assigned.
