**The Opportunity**

Join our dedicated team at AgeCare as an Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Specialist, reporting to the Director of Infection Prevention and Control. In this role, you will support the IPAC leads and the implementation and management of the IPAC Program across AgeCare Homes in Ontario. With your expertise in infection prevention and control practices, you will enhance the competency and capacity of the IPAC Leads in our Homes while fostering a culture of compliance with IPAC standards, legislative requirements, and AgeCare Policies and Procedures.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office/on-site at various locations and 2 days working remotely. You will support the following sites in Central Ontario Mississauga, Burlington, Woodbridge, Oakville, Etobicoke.

**What You Will Do**
- Support home implementation of audit program - including interrater reliability, training of auditors and data analysis.
- Participation/ facilitation of IPAC lead communities of practice and support standardization of IPAC practices across the homes.
- Support homes with infection surveillance and monitor surveillance programs to detect trends and gaps.
- Support Homes with outbreak preparedness, including early identification.
- Coordinate and lead the roll-out of vaccination campaign activities and support homes with resident and employee immunization programs.
- Educate staff on the principles and practices of IPAC and act as a resource regarding infection prevention and control.

**What You Bring**
- Completion of an IPAC Canada-endorsed Infection Prevention and Control course.
- Current certification from the CBIC for Infection Prevention and Control (CIC or LTC-CIP).
- Graduate of a post-secondary education program in a healthcare-related field.
- Minimum of 3-years of recent, relevant experience in IPAC-related roles, with progressive management positions in seniors housing, long-term care, hospital, medical, or other relevant service sectors, and/or clinical experience in an acute or community setting.
- Previous experience providing education and training is an asset.
