Orangeville, Canada Station Road Cooperative Childcare Centre Full time

Station Road Childcare Centre is growing We are excited to share that we are in the process of starting a Before/After School Program (BASP) at Ross R. MacKay Public School located in Hillsburgh, ON. We are looking for an On-Site Supervisor to join our growing team.

In This Role You Will:

- Provide daily care for children on a split-shift basis; supply hours at our Main Centre may also be available
- Oversee the day to day delivery of the before and after school program
- Maintain the environment in a clean and organized manner
- Monitor the program being implemented in the classroom, ensuring all learning opportunities are open-ended and child-directed
- Preparing and serving daily snack
- Maintaining daily records of children’s attendance, injuries and activities, as well as documenting in the communication log throughout the morning and afternoon program
- Organizing and replenishing classroom materials
- Developing an emergent program plan each week that meets the physical, intellectual, cognitive and emotional needs of each child in the class. This program must be based on interests/skills of the children. The program plan must be linked to the early learning document, “How Does Learning Happen”, signed by the supervisor and posted where it is visible to the parents/families/staff.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed and that all personal information related to Station Road and its’ families remains confidential at all times
- Reporting to the supervisor if you have any concerns about a child, family or any situation
- Treating all children, families, caregivers, staff members, and all members of the school community with dignity and respect
- Supervising each child in the room at all times, ensuring safety and awareness
- Ensuring that you can account for the children in your care at all times. You must always know the exact number of children to ensure complete safety
- Attending all Station Road staff meetings
- Keeping the classroom tidy and clean on a daily basis, as well as encouraging each child to actively participating in classroom tidiness. It is crucial to report to the supervisor if there are any safety concerns in the classroom or outside
- Establishing positive daily communication with the parents/caregivers, as well as greeting each child when they arrive and when they leave the program

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years' experience working with young children;
- Registered Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree;
- Well developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with parents, staff, and school board members;
- Excellent written communication skills;
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort; lifting up to 20 kg (44lbs.), bending and stooping, pushing, carrying and pulling;
- Must be able to work outdoors
- **Must be able to work a split shift (7am-9am and 3pm - 6pm)**:

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25-30 per week

**Salary**: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
