- How your role will add to the story:

- We are looking for a Corporate Counsel. In this role, you will provide the highest quality of legal services to various business units in the organization and support the legal team in ongoing matters.
- A day in the life- Commercial Contracts. Prepare, draft, and analyze contracts/contractual terms in relation to a variety of vendor, trade, commercial, financial, marketing and operational matters; support internal stakeholders including Procurement Team, on RFI and RFP process (50%).
- Provide advice on various areas of law, including compliance, in the areas of privacy law (telematics, apps), consumer protection, competition, marketing (including web store) and franchise matters, as well as provide support on litigation matters, as needed (30%).
- Support the business on new products/services being developed or considered (10%).
- Advise business on legal trends and developing areas of law. Perform other duties in support of the Legal Department, as needed, including creating templates, standardized processes, and efficiencies (10%).
- Anything else that comes up or is of interest to you.

- Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:
- Bachelor’s Degree (accredited school).
- 3-5 years post-call experience at a law firm or as in-house counsel.
- Called to the Bar and Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario or Bar of another province or territory in Canada.
- Strong ability to balance conflicting priorities.
- Reliable, conscientious, detail-oriented and highly aware of the need to be meticulously accurate.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Beneficial to have:

- Written and spoken French language skills,- Experience within automotive distribution,
- Motor vehicle technical expertise, or
- Civil Law Degree
- Innovative and enjoy challenging yourself.
- Honest and professional, a strong team player.
