Our Finance team is currently growing We’re seeking a Corporate Accountant – someone who will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions for the IPC Group of companies. The responsibility of the accountant will include accounting and data analysis and reconciliations, financial statement and audit support, income and management fee accruals and payment.

What is the role of the Corporate Accountant?
- Perform accounting entries and finance support related to investment and corporate accounting, for fund, corporate and private wealth client accounts
- Compilation and analysis of assets under management and assets under administration to support timely management reporting
- Perform account and general ledger reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timely report delivery
- Support internal and external auditors to facilitate all interim and year end requests by providing report samples and transaction evidence by the deadline.
- Assist with the month-end process for subadvisor, management and trailing commission fee accrual and payment
- Support the preparation of fund and corporate financial statements (including Fund Facts, MRFP, Statement of Investments) and perform year over year rollovers of statements and notes, proof reading and review of changes for accuracy
- Analyze, investigate, uncover, and resolve process exceptions, and other operational incidents, as required and follow up to ensure timely and accurate resolution of the exceptions
- Monitoring of daily fund pricing and fund net asset values
- Other duties as required
What traits and competencies should a Corporate Accountant possess?
- Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills
- Detail oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Relationship-building skills with a commitment to developing trusting relationships
What You’ll Bring:
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Investment industry experience preferred
- University degree in business administration with emphasis on accounting and finance
- Working towards a professional designation (CPA) an asset
- Solid working knowledge with MS Word and Outlook required (macros, Pivot Tables, v-lookups and h-lookups)
- Working knowledge of SAP and Sage 300 an asset
