The Truck Equipment Installer will be responsible for completing installations and product enhancement on a variety of equipment and will work with Technicians on maintenance and repairs to trucks and heavy equipment as required. The Truck Equipment Installer will be expected to read build diagrams and/or oral and written specifications while trouble shooting and diagnosing problems. You will be responsible for achieving a high-quality finished build, including final testing of equipment performance.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Forklift license or willing to obtain
- 1 years’ experience as a Shop Assistant or Mechanic, preferably working with heavy duty equipment
- Combined general mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assembly skills
- Hydraulic hose routing and system installation
- Welding and fabricating an asset
- Mechanical aptitude or Previous truck equipment and body installation experience required is an asset
- Experience operating machinery and using a variety of tools
- Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner
- Demonstrated team player and willing to assist others when required
- Attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Ability to plan and execute aspects of work independently and with a positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Independent problem solver and decision maker

**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES**:

- Complete installation and product enhancements on HEAVY duty equipment and new Unit PDI’s
- Welding as required
- Install and/or remove equipment vehicles using air, power and hand tools, along with technical information and shop service procedures.
- Build special components to accommodate the installation of necessary equipment in vehicles
- Troubleshoot malfunctions of electronic equipment and installations in order to diagnose and correct operational problems.
- Repair electronic equipment and installations restore equipment installations to optimal operating conditions.
- Operate installed equipment in order to test or demonstrate equipment.
- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance and repairs on installed equipment to ensure maximum reliability and performance
- Assist Technicians with minor maintenance and mechanical repairs of trucks and heavy equipment
- Assist in the completion of body modifications and installations
- Assist with the inspection and diagnosis of equipment for minor repairs and maintenance
- Document all equipment installations and repairs performed, recording work completed on appropriate work orders.
- Deliver and pick up parts as needed
- Completion of work in a timely manner
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
- Assist in some general facility maintenance
- Perform any other duties as required
