Administrative Full-time New Position

The Supervisor of Athletic Operations is responsible for the development and processes of health and wellness initiatives within the Department of Athletics & Recreation. The incumbent will implement programming to promote the active and engaging physical and mental health of the staff and student population at Conestoga College. This position will provide supervision and leadership in the areas of sports medicine, recreation, and high performance as it relates to staffing, day-to-day operations, and the policies and maintenance of facilities and student services in these areas.

The Supervisor reports to the Manager of Varsity and Athletics Operations and is responsible for the operation of Conestoga athletics customer service at the SRC, departments CMS (fusion), facility and client communications, data collection and analysis, budget administration, PT staff onboarding and training departmental administrative support and supports other departmental activities as required.

**Responsibilities**:
**General Operation of the Student Recreation Centre**
- Provides leadership for the daily operations of the Student Recreation Centre
- Develops and enforces fair, equitable policies and procedures that best meet the needs of stakeholders to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all users
- Leads the annual review and update of department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Responds to staff concerns related to SOP’s and make adjustments to procedures
- Oversees facility requirements related to health and safety, facility and equipment inspections, maintenance, quality assurance audits, and repairs
- Ensures compliance with facility/program licensing (i.e. SOCAN, Facility Occupancy, Liquor licensing, etc.)
- Ensures processes related to facility scheduling are clear and communicated to stakeholders
- Responsible for the internal scheduling, communication, and delivery of non-athletic College events including Orientation, Job Fair, College Fair, Powwow, Celebrate Success, and other events
- Liaises with internal College event stakeholders to support the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of large college events
- Leads the review and updating of Rental documentation
- Supports the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of external rental partners (OBA, OVA, Community Groups, etc.)
- Liaises with the Facilities Department and ensures processes related to work requests, event set up/tear down support, and other facilities-related processes are established and clear
- Develops and monitors systems that support efficient department budgetary practices
- Assists Managers in the monitoring and development of program budgets by organization area specific budget reports
- Acts as a key contact with the College Procurement Department and communicates procurement policy/processes to A&R department staff
- Supports quality assurance initiatives department-wide through the facilitation of surveys, data collection and analyses, and reporting
- Acts as a key contact with College security and oversees SRC Access Control permissions

**Athletics & Recreation SRC Staff**
- Responsible for the supervision and performance management of full-time, part-time, and contract SRC staff within the area of responsibility
- Leads and implements a customer service strategy that supports the delivery of a first class student experience within the SRC
- Organizes and oversees processes related to departmental Human Resources needs, including the scheduling of interviews, communicating offers of hire and letters of regret, and completing reference checks
- Develops a consistent onboarding, training, and development model that fosters the development of highly competent PT and PTR staff
- Works with area-specific FT staff to develop material that supports hiring, onboarding, and training of PT staff
- Oversees work study requirements for the department ensuring submission timelines are met
- Facilitates group training sessions for FT and PT staff on relevant technology systems
- Liaises with Student Success operational staff regularly and adopts processes that can be applied to A&R operations
- Addresses escalated student staff and/or client situations

**Use of existing Technology Platforms, Software, Communication Tools, and IT Resources**
- Acts as ‘Fusion Champion’ by overseeing all Fusion software updates, training requirements, annual billing, etc.
- Leads the organization and maintenance of Fusion back-end functions to support scheduling, online transactions, membership sales, equipment rent
