Basecamp Resorts is a Canmore based company which has been rapidly growing its boutique chain of hotels. Basecamp Resorts currently has lodging properties in Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, Kananaskis, Revelstoke, and Golden. We are focused onexpanding our brand to better serve the resort communities of the Rocky Mountains, including a goal to expand into the United States. In addition to lodging, Basecamp develops multi-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and commercial bays.Basecamp’s properties are built through its construction arm, Shape Construction.

**Position Overview**

This role will play a crucial role in shaping our company's futureand you will have the opportunity to build upon our already talented team of construction professionals. Your strategic vision, coupled with your deep understanding of the construction industry, will be instrumental in propelling us to greater success.

As the VP of Construction, you will have the autonomy and support to make bold decisions, champion new ideas, and contribute to the overall growth of the company. As the Vice President of Construction, you will oversee the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion.

Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding cross-functional teams, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless project execution whether it is through self performance or managing the process of utilizing other General Contractors.

Shifts: Full-time; Permanent, must be at the Canmore office minimum 3 days a week.

Wage: Depending on Experience

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement strategic plans for construction operations, ensuring that they align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Establish and follow an evaluation method to determine when projects will be executed in-house or contracted to a General Contractor.
- Lead and manage the Director of Construction to ensure that construction team, including project managers, superintendents, and other personnel involved in the project are effectively executing their responsibilities.
- Monitor construction progress and identify any issues that may arise, ensuring that they are addressed in a timely manner.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring that they are adhered to and that any necessary adjustments are made.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Clients, vendors, and other stakeholders involved in the project.
- Ensure safety procedures are in place and that all construction work is conducted safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory agencies.
- Attract, retain, and develop employees for succession planning and manage the development team with the help of People & Culture.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. OR
- At least 15 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of success in managing complex construction projects.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of local and Provincial building codes and regulations, as well as safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in a high-level executive position is also a plus.

- Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma is a plus.
