Pharmacy Tech Quality Lead/quality Assurance

Reporting to the Project Manager, Pharmacy Services, the Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) is responsible for: planning and development of orientation and training programs, and ongoing management of validation programs to ensure that standards are met. A key aspect of this position is the provision of education, standardized training, and development of policies/procedures to meet quality control and quality assurance requirements. An in depth knowledge of NAPRA Standards (non-hazardous and hazardous sterile compounding, non-sterile compounding) is required to support the quality assurance program for sterile and non-sterile compounding, including attending regular cleanroom certifications to observe certifier/ensure conditions are met, reviewing certification/audit reports to identify compliance issues and recommend remedial steps and acting as a resource on compounding best practice questions. Ability to compound sterile products according to approved worksheets and established processes is required in order to provide third party evaluation to Covenant Health sterile compounding sites. This position will, support key strategies for Pharmacy Services, represent Covenant at applicable provincial commitees/working groups, and act as a liaison between AHS and Covenant technical practice.
