Community Support Worker

Job description:
Pay $18 per hour Hours of week flexible: would like between 3 -6 Hrs weekly
Must have availability to work through the week during the hrs of 10 - 6 p.m. for approx 3 hrs per visit
**Responsibilities**:
- Planning and facilitating day activities that last between 2-5 hrs.
- Pick up client and drive to community activity/public transit is also okay
- Support the client to participate fully in the activity (Examples: Swimming, walking around the mall, grocery shopping, seasonal festivals, attending the movies, creating arts and crafts)
- Ability to problem solve
- Ensure the client's safety at all times
- Monthly reporting and scheduling of activities
Qualifications:
- College diploma or equivalent experience working with people with disabilities
- Experience in managing and redirecting minor behaviours/inappropriate language, aid walking (client is mobile but might require assistance with stairs or unleveled ground), document hours and submit them monthly.
- Well-organized, resourceful with great follow-up skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Empathy
Employment Type: Contract
