**Chief Executive Officer (CEO)**

providing residential care, assisted living, home support and independent living to 700 residents.
Founded in 1953 by the Mennonite Benevolent Society, we have been privileged to serve the physical,
emotional, spiritual and relational needs of thousands of residents and their families

The CEO is an integral member of the Menno Place team and is required to have a commitment to the
vision, mission and values of Menno Place performing duties following Menno Place policies and
procedures and ensuring safety for residents and staff.

This position consists of demonstrating effective leadership, planning and organizational skills in the day
- to-day operations of Menno Place and will:
- Be responsible to collaborate with the MBS Board and Executive Team to develop, update and

implement a Strategic Framework, aligning organizational and operational priorities with the

plan and enact the activities required to achieve the goals within approved timelines.
- Ensure that appropriate operating policies and procedures (“best practices”) are in place to

achieve effective Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs as well as optimal

resource utilization throughout Menno Place.
- Direct the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets and long-range financial

strategies that comply with MBS Board expectations and generally accepted accounting

principles, and that achieves the objectives of the organization.
- Lead long-range planning initiatives and provide executive leadership to capital projects as

required
- Liaise and build effective working relationship with staff, community and government agencies,

health authorities, other healthcare organizations, the media and the general public.

**Prerequisite for Hire**: Criminal Record Check, TB Screen, COVID-19 vaccination and influenza

immunization

**THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: -**

A Master’s degree in business and/or health care administration, other related degrees will be

considered.
- Membership in the Canadian College of Health leaders, CHE preferred.
- 10 years recent related experience in a senior executive position, preferably in health care or an

equivalent combination of education and business administration.This is a unionized environment where the CEO must be familiar with B.C. Hospital Employee

Union contracts and the negotiation process.
- Excellent communication skills oral and written are a must for effective interpersonal working

relationships with staff, external partners and the MBS Board of Directors.
- The CEO will model personal beliefs and values in harmony with the spiritual beliefs and values of

the Mennonite Benevolent Society and its Board of Directors.
- Experience in not-for-profit organizations is an asset.
