**Executive Assistant / Planning Coordinator**

**Our Opportunity**

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude to join the Middleton team as an Executive Assistant / Planning Coordinator. You will report to the CAO and ensure efficient coordination and support for Council and Committees and will require good time management skills and attention to detail. You will put your communication skills to work by preparing and updating website and social media content, as well as handling inquiries and complaints.

- Provide efficient meeting coordination and support for Council and Committees including, agenda preparation, minute taking, notices, etc.
- Ensure website and social media updates, inquires, and content related to administrative services are maintained and provide backup for other departments
- Maintain general filing and official records of all Municipal bylaws, policies, standard operating procedures, deeds, agreements, and contracts
- Provide exceptional customer service when handling inquiries, receiving complaints and processing bill payments
- Have experience updating policies, procedures, and bylaws

**What we’re looking for**:
**Qualifications**:

- A certificate or equivalent/experience in an Administrative Assistant course
- Proficient computer skills in programs such as Microsoft 365 and good knowledge of computer operations and software
- Good working knowledge of Business English and Spelling, including grammar and punctuation
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively
- Ability to operate modern office machines and strong typing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact with the public
- Willing to work evenings (minute taking at Council and Committee meetings is required)
- Has demonstrated initiative and discretion in handling confidential matters

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Municipal experience is an asset
