What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting in the warehouse. Every Sunday and Monday we dispatch deliveries from our warehouse in Kelowna. You'll be helping to offload the truck, organize the pallets, and get drivers ready to load.
- Assisting with deliveries. You'll work with our team over Slack to assist drivers with delivery issues that they can't solve while out on the road. This may involve doing some detective work regarding addresses, calling customers, or looking things up in the customer's account.
- Covering and supporting as needed. We have a lot going on, and it's different every week. You'll cover and support the delivery team wherever needed - whether that's helping out with shipping, covering dispatch remotely, or working virtually with drivers in other cities.
- You will communicate with our large fleet of drivers, providing support, addressing issues, and pivoting on the fly while communicating remotely via Slack.
- You’ll be an active problem-solver for delivery issues, including arranging meetups for drivers, assisting customers with route changes, and sending drivers back for second attempts, among other duties.
- You’ll refer to a VIP list and communicate with drivers to ensure that escalated customers’ needs are seen to.
- You’ll estimate ETAs and adjust plans throughout the day to avoid late deliveries.
- You’ll develop a deep understanding of delivery processes to better keep customers informed.

What We Are Looking For
This individual has an interest in delivery/dispatch as well as customer service. They are responsible for working with customers and drivers to ensure a positive delivery experience. They communicate directly with customers and Fresh Prep staff and communicate with drivers as needed. They follow and contribute toward departmental processes and standard operating procedures and are able to operate within their job function with the help and guidance of senior colleagues. They escalate to managers when necessary and can be relied upon to properly follow procedures during times of high stress or crisis.
- You have a high school diploma or GED, and ideally are pursuing post-secondary education.
- You have interest in delivery/dispatch, and at least one year of experience using computers and software for work.
- You have good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are able to prioritize tasks as per importance.
- You’re tech savvy with good command of Google Suite, particularly spreadsheets, and Slack with an ability to quickly learn new software.
- You are confident in communicating clearly with diverse individuals while ensuring the message is received and understood.
- You have a positive, respectful attitude with good people skills.
- You are reliable and available to work a consistent Sunday and Monday schedule of 16 - 20 hours, with occasional on-call shifts to assist with support and coverage.
