Field Surveyor

The Field Surveyor is responsible for collecting, analyzing and organizing basic field engineering data to develop design layouts and all engineering documentation required for a complete functional design.
This position is supporting our Telecon Design Team in Carp, ON. Must have a full-G class driver's license and good driver's abstract.
**YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO**:
- Collects aerial and underground field data for pole line engineering data
- Performs site surveys to collect, analyze and organize basic engineering data to develop design layouts and prepare all engineering documentation required for a complete functional design
- Prepares layouts and detail drawings with complex assemblies from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches
- Liaison with internal and external customers, developers, municipal officials and other approving authorities to remove roadblocks and obtain the necessary approvals of the design drawings
- Prepare accurate documentation to track time, expenses and events for billing purpose
- Adheres to all health and safety guidelines
- Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives
**THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES**:
- Previous experience in a Surveyor Role is an asset; or in Telecommunications industry
- Experience in Outside Plant design and Telecom field experience is considered an asset
- Must have a valid full-G driver's license and a good driver's abstract
- Experience in drafting design tools (i.e. AutoCAD) is considered an asset
- Must have access to a personal vehicle in order to get to our office
- Must be willing to travel when required (within the 613 area code)
- Must follow safe work practices and abide by all safety rules and regulations
- Ability to work in any and all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs
- Demonstrated professional oral and written communication skills
- Abilities in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines
- Demonstrated effective decision-making skills while under limited supervision
- Self-motivated, works well with minimum or no direct supervision
- Willing to work various shifts to meet client requirements
- Ability to effectively handle both favorable and unfavorable customer interactions
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action, implement solutions or escalate as required
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and collaboratively with other departments and clients
- Maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced changing environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
