We are seeking a hands-on and highly skilled Maintenance technician to join our food manufacturing facility, which generates approximately $8M in annual sales. The facility comprises four production lines: one oven line, one seasoning line, and two packaging lines. The Maintenance technician will be the first hire within the maintenance department and will be responsible for all aspects of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting fixes throughout production. The role also includes responsibilities for building maintenance and HVAC infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Preventative Maintenance**:

- Implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all production lines (oven, seasoning, and packaging).
- Schedule and perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

**Troubleshooting and Repairs**:

- Quickly identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues that arise during production.
- Personally perform emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with production staff to identify recurring issues and develop long-term solutions.

**Building and HVAC Maintenance**:

- Oversee the maintenance and repair of the facility's building infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
- Manage the maintenance and operation of the HVAC systems to ensure optimal climate control within the facility.

**Inventory and Budget Management**:

- Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

**Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.

**Continuous Improvement**:

- Implement best practices for maintenance management and stay current with industry trends and technological advancements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the maintenance operations.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- Relevant technical or trade qualifications (e.g., electrician, millwright, HVAC technician, etc.) preferred.
- Additional certifications or training in maintenance management or related fields are a plus.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.

**Skills**:

- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in performing a wide range of maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stand, walk, and work in a variety of environments for extended periods.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required by production needs.
