JNE Welding is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and preserving the company’s buildings, including its equipment and systems. Duties include but are not limited to regularly inspecting the company’s buildings and its assets, maintaining inventory of shop supplies and tools, performing troubleshooting on equipment, and conducting corrective and preventative maintenance as required.

Position Responsibilities:

- Responsible for working safely in accordance with Company safety guidelines, safe work practices and job procedures. This includes wearing all required personal protective equipment, using the appropriate equipment, rigging, and maintaining good housekeeping in work area.
- Maintaining an inventory of shop supplies and tools.
- Issuing tools and other shop equipment.
- Maintaining tools, shop equipment, assigned vehicles, and buildings.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance inspections.
- Completing assigned shop modifications and installations.
- Troubleshoot equipment & building problems and make necessary repairs to eliminate lengthy downtime.
- Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to assist with troubleshooting process.
- Assist in repairs on the company’s buildings and equipment, such as heating and cooling systems, plumbing systems, or electrical systems to ensure functionality (based upon skillset).
- Inspect alarm systems (fire extinguisher, emergency lights) and schedule repairs when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills, and Attributes:

- 5+ years of proven experience working as a maintenance technician.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical, and other systems.
- Working knowledge of tools and equipment required for fabrication work such as band saws, iron workers, and motors.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment (snow blowers, lawn mowers) and small hand tools.
- Ability to perform general handyman work.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and seek out on-going maintenance duties to continuously improve tools and facilities.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask a variety of requests at one time.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work on a wide variety of tasks.
- Adherence to Company’s safety program and all applicable regulations is a condition of employment.

**Education**:

- Millwright Journeyperson/Red Seal status or Industrial Mechanic certificate would be considered an asset.
- Basic Grade 12 with equivalent math.
- Relevant trade apprenticeship training.
- Mechanical aptitude and/or experience in similar mechanical fields.
