Job purpose
The Program Manager (PM) position exists to cultivate and manage partnerships with World Vision entities, donor and partner representatives, working closely with them to design programs, grow and diversify funding from the Government of Canada, Multilaterals, Foreign Governments, Foundations, and other institutions and to concurrently manage programs as World Vision Canada’s main conduit to the field, for an assigned portfolio of countries.

The Program Manager (PM) exists to promote World Vision Canada’s sectoral and geographic expertise to build and profile World Vision Canada’s technical brand, support field needs and influence funding initiatives, while ensuring effective stewardship of all field resources to ensure value for our programs with optimal beneficiary impact. Through close collaboration with marketing colleagues, the PM supports the acquisition of private funds (sponsorship, private non sponsorship (PNS), major donors) by providing programmatic support and insights, and identifying fundable opportunities in the field.

Duties and responsibilities
- Build World Vision Canada’s influence as a credible thought and action leader in our sector, with internal and external stakeholders, donors and partners.
- Identify, cultivate and maintain effective working relationships alongside Advocacy and Government Engagement Department and technical teams, with the public, donors and partners, including major and middle donors, engaging them in person as required.
- Promote World Vision Canada’s technical and geographic expertise.
- Generate income to support World Vision Canada’s objectives to grow and diversify funds from the public, institutions, foundations, corporate partners etc. within an assigned portfolio of fragile and disaster affected countries, by engaging with Field Offices in a proactive and opportunity seeking manner, actively preparing brief concepts for consideration by public and private funders.
- Identify fundable opportunities in the field managing all components of the process (jncluding proposal development workshops as needed), coordinate proposal development teams to ensure support and engagement of internal and external stakeholders, and lead the writing and editing of proposal document submissions.
- Manage preparation of project proposals collaborating with project partners and negotiating respective roles negotiate contract documents portfolios and technical capacity, including as they relate to disaster preparedness and response maintain knowledge of country portfolio information tracking systems provide support to emergency response.
- to support the acquisition of private funds by providing the necessary contextual information, training teams that engage with donors, supporting marketing trips and by engaging directly with donors through presentations and high net worth donor pitches. Engage with marketing teams.
- Steward World Vision Canada resources to ensure the most value for our programs with the highest impact while managing risk across the portfolio of assigned countries.
- Alignment, integration and strategic direction and overall management.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational guidelines.
- Manage financial risks.
- Risk Monitoring and Accountability Framework (RMAF).
- Support effective emergency response to emergencies within country portfolio.
- Strategic engagements and incorporated in field planning.
- Field visits with regional and field offices. These capacity needs will be identified through the strategic conversations and bilateral field office engagements. Facilitate key trainings/orientations/refreshers.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- University Degree (Masters preferred) in a field related to international or community/social development including business development.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience, including in overseas locations.
- Thorough understanding of donor requirements, guidelines and priorities of Global Affairs Canada (knowledge of other institutional donors including multilaterals considered an asset).
