**Responsibilities for Head Chef/Manager**:

- Creating base menu items, special menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality.
- Order food inventory and supplies.
- Shop for ingredients.
- Effectively cost new items.
- Able to work in a demanding environment and juggle multiple tasks and demands.
- Ensure all food safety regulations are followed
- Inspect and ensure consistent quality of the food, and consistency of plate presentation
- Responsible for over all kitchen cleanliness, kitchen equipment and appliances to be thoroughly cleaned and maintained at the highest levels of cleanliness to meet local health unit standards.
- Ensure kitchen staff follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards.
- Manage special dietary needs of guest
- Able to resolve problems or complaints of dissatisfied customers and/or employees.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate food inventory levels and place orders accordingly.
- Show leadership qualities by providing a positive and safe working environment and demonstrating in a dedicated professional approach.

**Requirements**:

- Proven work experience as a Sous-Chef or Cook for 3+ years
- Safe food handlers certificate
- Great culinary imagination, up to date on current and new culinary trends in the hospitality industry
- Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
- Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques
- Leadership skills
- Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks in stressful situations
- Excellent time management abilities
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage an entire kitchen
- Able to accept direction from superiors or other experienced staff.
- Full understanding of Budgeting/ Food costing measures to control costs
- Consistent food preparation abilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Incredible time management skills
- Self motivated and self-directed
- Must demonstrate high standards of ethics and personal accountability

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 50 per week
