Maintenance Technician

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking an experienced, full-time Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Tech team. As a skilled laborer/handyman, this role involves managing and performing maintenance calls from our portfolio of 80+ properties (460+ units).
- Responsible for all day to day activity at the sites and address tenant inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance
- Ability to perform minor plumbing repairs, drywall repairs, painting, and rough carpentry
- Review assigned work orders, estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs, and orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks
- Excellent time-management skills, and able to work under pressure and manage deadlines
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, able to respond quickly to emergencies
- Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Buildium an asset
- Able to lift/move heavy items safely up to 50lbs
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Self-initiative and self-urgency to get things done are a great asset
- Trade certifications an asset
**Qualifications**:
- Must possess own tools and a reliable vehicle with a fully graduated G-license. Driver Abstract required
- A full Criminal Background Check is required prior to employment.
- Familiarity with tenant health and safety regulations, including WHMIS, Ontario Building and Fire Codes, Commercial and Residential Tenancies Act.
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) and/or experience working with tenants would be an asset
- Computer literate, proficient in Gmail, experience with systems like ClockShark and Buildium would be an asset, (training will be provided upon hire)
- Good phone etiquette & in-person communication to ensure professionalism with all external and internal parties.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
