Northern Strands Group of Companies is currently recruiting to fulfill the role of **Health & Safety Administrator. **The Health & Safety Administrator performs all health and safety administrative duties requiring initiative, independence, and confidentiality in the Health and Safety Department. The Health & Safety Administrator assists the Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager to develop, administer, implement, and evaluate company-wide occupational health and safety programs.

The Health & Safety Admin will also assist in ensuring a systematic training program is in place which includes all staff and covers all applicable legislation. This role will assist the HSE Manager designing and maintaining systems for internal reporting of compliance with both internal and external safety rules. The Health and Safety Administrator provides administrative support to the HSE Manager and to the Trainer. Reporting directly to the HSE Manager, the Health and Safety Administrator plays a key role in the execution of daily tasks necessary for the efficient operation of the organization.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist in the continual improvement of Health Safety and Environmental Management Program and related materials
- Maintain safety databases for the Group of Companies
- Build and maintain our job site binders required health and safety documents
- Participate in the implementation phase and provide administrative support pertaining to Site Docs
- Filing of documents for Health, Safety, and Environmental, ensuring communication with various personnel as required
- Distribute Health and Safety information to field and other necessary departments as required
- Develop and implement organized filing systems
- Maintain filing systems as required, both electronically and paper copies
- Liaise with the Trainer ensuring that required training is conducted for employees in order to meet job site requirements and to maintain certifications
- Schedule pre-employment/pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Analyze regulations and provide guidance on compliance, ensuring all employees understand what the obligations are with respect to meeting health and safety regulations
- Assist with and monitor return-to-work programs
- Coordinate and schedule employee training, as required
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to create organized filing systems and processes
- Ability to multi‐task
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
- Two years experience in an administrative role, preferably within the construction or mining industry, would be considered an asset
- Post‐secondary education or equivalent experience relating to office or site administration would be considered an asset
- Experience and training in health & safety administration is preferred
- Any applicable safety certificates would be an asset
- Willingness to attend SCSA training as required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
