**What this role is all about**:
The Underwriter is a key resource in the Commercial Credit team, supporting the team’s business growth and maintenance as well as overall provision of service excellence. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and analyzing commercial lending deals in accordance with regulations and best practices to maximize member satisfaction while minimizing risk to the organization. The incumbent also collaborates with the Commercial team as well as other department and branch employees to support Gulf & Fraser’s business overall.

This is a temporary role that will last for up to 6 months.

**What you’ll do**:

- Conducts annual credit reviews and prepares administrative reports and market research
- Prepares and follows up with member correspondence and inquiries
- Ensures lending and collection compliance; assists with lending audit reviews and follow-up actions
- Fulfils credit monitoring and compliance requirements including analysis of reports and financial statements
- Proactively identifies opportunities for retail and commercial sales and referrals

**A little about your qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in finance, commerce or business administration
- 4-6 years’ experience in the financial industry including lending and/or loans administration
- Commercial banking and lending experience is a strong asset
- Proactive nature with the ability to identify business development opportunities
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and sound judgment abilities
