**Position**

**We are seeking a **Manager, Health, Safety & Training **for a full-time/regular position**. **This is a fly-in, fly-out position at the Minto mine site with travel to Whitehorse, YT and charter flight to site every Thursday travel day. Rotation is 2 weeks on site/2 week off site with availability to engage/support the team; as required. Travel to/from Whitehorse is paid for by the Company.

**You will have**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety or equivalent;
- 10-15 years of health and safety experience within mining;
- Demonstrate good understanding of key safety principles in the mining industry;
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
- Work effectively and respond quickly under pressure situations;
- Ability to teach, mentor and motivate others;
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies;
- Experience conducting exposure assessments and industrial hygiene sampling;
- Ability to develop and foster strong working relationships;
- Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Valid driver's license;
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead, promote and actively engage site personnel to ensure a culture of health and safety and accountability;
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to all site personnel on health and safety initiatives;
- Ensure compliance with health and safety provincial and local regulations, as well as compliance with Company policies and procedures;
- Responsible for the health and safety training programs, as required by regulatory agencies and Company policies;
- Identify, develop, and communicate best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks and raise health and safety awareness;
- Conduct and lead risk assessments to identify and control exposures to workplace hazards;
- Lead health and safety audits and inspections to identify and correct potential hazards;
- Lead investigation of all accidents, near-miss incidents and occupational injuries, and tracking implementation of preventive/corrective measures as required;
- Manage workers compensation injuries and return-to-work activities, coordinating with the HR team;
- Build relationships with health and safety regulators and participate in regulatory health and safety inspections;
- Maintain records of safety performance and regularly report results and trends to Company management;
- Report incidents and/or injuries in accordance with regulatory standards and/or company policies and procedures;
- Manage all industrial hygiene sampling activities and related programs and processes;
- Responsible for the oversight and direction of the onsite medical and mine rescue teams;
- Practice and actively promote company environmental, health, safety and operational policies and procedures;
- Maintain a high standard of performance in your duties;
- Be an effective communicator in English (verbal and written) at all levels;
- Comply with company standards, as well as Yukon Territory and Canadian federal standards;
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the Company.
