A day in the role of a Housekeeping/Cook Associate at Cobourg Retirement Residence.
- The Housekeeping/Cook Associate is responsible for housekeeping services of the residents’ personal suites and the community’s amenity space according to the policies of the community and aligned with but not limited to, the Retirement Homes Act as well as meal preparation of the home

This position is responsible for but not limited to:
- Performs various tasks related to housekeeping services as per the job routines. They include but are not limited to surface cleaning and disinfecting, vacuuming, sweeping, washing, polishing and garbage/recycling waste management,-
- This may include laundry services,-
- Plates all meals and ensures Resident food preferences are respected,-
- Keeps the kitchen area and equipment clean,-
- Assists in the FIFO process of food and supply products-
- Completes mandatory training as scheduled,-
- Maintains safe Infection Control and Health and Safety Practices,-
- Reports any safety or risk concerns immediately to the manager or in-charge associate,-
- Maintains effective communication with Residents, families and fellow associates,-
- Promotes the Vision, Mission and Values of Lifetimes Living Inc. as well as the Residents’ Bill of Rights,- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,-
- Familiar with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act,-
- Knowledge of special and therapeutic diets,-
- Familiar with weights and measurements, recipe conversion and portion control,-
- Completion of Safe Food Handlers Certification course,-
- Knowledge of Ontario Food Premises Regulation and Canada’s Food Guide,-
- Ability to work within and promote a team environment,-
- Must be able to read, write and understand English,-
- Highly organized and able to work independently,-
- Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory references.How to apply?
