Mechanical Design Technician, Helmet Development

As a member of the Apparel and Protective Gear team Engineering team, which is based in Sherbrooke, the Mechanical Technician creates and delivers relevant technologies for every BRP brand. This position will help BRP to become a leader in the powersports helmet and protective gear market. In this position, you will be a key member to bring to the market the next generation of helmets and protective equipment.

The Technical Designer will have the primary responsibility for developing, implementing and testing multiple complex solutions for current and future BRP helmets and protective gear.

**YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO**:
Designs products, systems, mechanisms, and innovative solutions.

Create CAD files of the helmets and protective equipment.

Proceed to the conception of components and coordination of the prototype manufacturing.

Create 2D drawing for manufacturing requirements.

Test the fruits of your labor in real life conditions on BRP vehicles.

Works on multiple projects in a fast-paced product development environment.

Other duties and responsibilities as required.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
A CAD specialist profile with love of Engineering and Prototyping.

Hands-on attitude.

Outside the box thinker.

Interest in powersports.

Team player.

Self-starter, self-motivated, ability to complete project goals with mínimal supervision with high attention to detail and quality of work.

A technical college diploma in mechanical engineering, or relevant design experience.

Strong Catia V5 surface design skills (GSD workbench).

More than 3 years’ experience in the aesthetic surface design for plastic parts.

Experience in plastic components conception is an advantage.

Knowledge of Smarteam is an advantage.

Knowledge of plastic, plastics processing, and technical material construction is an advantage.

Hands-on experience building/fabricating prototypes and testing is an advantage.

Knowledge and experience using rapid/additive prototyping methods is an advantage.

A good knowledge in French and English.
